Who we are
Slam101 is operated on a non-professional basis by Funsho David, an individual publisher (contact: [email protected]; referred to here as "we" or "us"). Company details will be added here when the service opens commercially.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Data we collect
Account data. Email address, display name, and password (encrypted), account creation date, and language preference (English, French, or Spanish).
Gameplay data. Playgrounds you create or join, rosters, lineups, playground points (PP), boosters selected and activated, Game Points (GP), tier and division, skill badges, and your position on playground and global leaderboards.
Matchmaking and anti-abuse data. We compute a power score from your global ranking to match free agents with playgrounds of similar skill. To detect ranking abuse (for example, farming wins against fresh accounts), we also record your account age, your completed-playground count, and, per finalized playground, the raw GP, the anti-abuse weight applied, and the resulting awarded GP.
Bucket and purchase data. Your bucket balance, regeneration credits, bucket spends, and purchase history (bucket packs and Assistant Coach Mode subscriptions), including plan, price, and billing dates.
Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive your full card number, only your payment status, subscription status, and a customer reference.
Communications data. The email notifications we have sent you and your notification opt-out status.
Technical data. IP address, browser and device information, and standard server logs, used for security, debugging, and fraud prevention.
Beta signup. If you apply for the beta before the app opens, we collect your email address for beta selection, beta communications, and one launch notification. Legal basis: consent. We delete it within 3 months of public launch or on your request, and never share it except with our email provider and host.
We do not collect personal data from the sports statistics we display. Player and game statistics come from a third-party sports data provider (BallDontLie) and concern professional athletes' public performance data, not our users.
How we use your data
- To provide the game: accounts, playgrounds, rosters, lineups, scoring, rankings, skills, and leaderboards. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To match free agents with suitable playgrounds: using the power score described above. Legal basis: performance of contract.
- To keep rankings fair: the anti-abuse GP weighting and its audit trail. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and preserving the integrity of competitive rankings.
- To process purchases and subscriptions: via Stripe. Legal basis: performance of contract; legal obligations (accounting, tax).
- To send service emails: playground completion notices for all users; roster deadline, lineup deadline, and injured-player alerts for Assistant Coach Mode subscribers. You can opt out of email notifications at any time in Settings. Legal basis: performance of contract / legitimate interest.
- To secure the service: log analysis, abuse and fraud detection. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- To comply with law: responding to lawful requests, keeping required records. Legal basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
What other users can see
Slam101 is a competitive game, so some of your data is visible to others by design:
- Your display name, tier, division, and skill badges.
- Your position on the global leaderboard and on the leaderboards of playgrounds you play in.
- Within a playground: your roster, lineups, daily scores, and booster activations (including when another player targets you with, or you target them with, the Choke booster).
- When you open a playground to Free Agency, its member list and average skill level are shown to free agents browsing for a match.
Your email address is never shown to other users.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the processors needed to run the service:
- Stripe: payment and subscription processing.
- Resend: sending transactional emails in production.
- Moneytime, 11 rue Sainte Odile 31100 TOULOUSE, +33 1 00 00 00 00: infrastructure hosting our application and database.
Each processor acts under a data processing agreement and only on our instructions. Where a processor transfers data outside the EU/EEA, transfers are covered by an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Separately, loading any page also makes your browser request fonts and scripts directly from third-party content delivery networks: Google (Google Fonts, for typography), Tailwind Labs (Tailwind CDN, for styling), and jsDelivr (for lightweight interactivity libraries). These providers receive your IP address and standard browser request headers as an inherent part of serving those files. We do not send them any data ourselves, and they are not our sub-processors.
Retention
- Account and gameplay data: kept while your account is active, then deleted or anonymized within 12 months of account deletion. Leaderboard history may be retained in anonymized form.
- Purchase and billing records: kept 10 years, as required by French accounting law.
- Anti-abuse audit data: kept 12 months after the related playground is finalized.
- Server logs: kept 12 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us at any time to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. Write to [email protected]; we respond within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In France, that's the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in the Retention section above; already-finalized playground results may persist in anonymized form so other players' rankings remain consistent.
Children
Slam101 is intended for users aged 15 and over. If you are under 15, you may only create an account with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms and this policy on your behalf. If your country of residence sets a higher minimum age for consenting to online services (in the EU this ranges from 14 to 16 depending on the country), that higher age applies to you instead. If you believe a child has created an account without appropriate consent, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves (for example, when push notifications, new leagues, or new locales launch). Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect.
